Mother of Five and Boyfriend Found Dead in Suspected Murder-Suicide in New Mexico
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Police in Las Cruces are investigating a suspected murder-suicide that left a 30-year-old mother of five and her 46-year-old boyfriend dead at a home Saturday morning.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 8:30 a.m. to a residence in the 4100 block of Calle Libertad, where they discovered the bodies of a woman and a man, according to police.
The woman was identified as Angelica Aguirre, described as a beloved mother of five who was originally from Las Vegas. The man was identified as her boyfriend, Shane Perez.

Investigators believe Perez shot Aguirre before turning the gun on himself. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and authorities have not released further details.
The tragedy has left five children, ranging in age from 3 to 14, without their mother and father. The children were inside the home at the time of the incident, according to police.
New Mexico’s Children, Youth and Families Department assisted with arrangements to place the children temporarily in the custody of a relative.
The deaths have raised serious concerns about the welfare of the children, who were present during the tragic incident. Further details about what led to the shooting have not been released.
Police have not provided additional information as the investigation continues.
This is a developing story. More details will be provided as they become available.
